Certificate in Management
In 1997, the Canadian Institute of Management
celebrated its 55th anniversary. In the same year, the Halifax Branch celebrated
its 30th anniversary with the national organization. There are now more than
3,000 members in 20 branches across Canada. Since the program's inception in
Nova Scotia in 1967, over 800 students have graduated. The mandate of the Canadian
Institute of Management is to promote management and its professional applications
by:
- providing a national voice on issues affecting the management process;
- becoming an authority on Canadian management developments;
- increasing awareness of the management profession;
- developing and maintaining educational and information programs consistent
with the needs of members
Halifax Branch is a strong partner and representative of the Institute in Atlantic
Canada. In addition to hosting National conferences, the Branch has produced
both extremely able National Presidents and Directors. Halifax boasts very healthy
education and member programs.
Halifax also sponsors a satellite branch in New Glasgow. This satellite features
the same membership classes and fee structures as Halifax itself.
