The Association for Media Literacy-Nova Scotia was founded in 1992 to
promote an understanding of the mass media, their effects, how they are
made, by whom and for what reasons.
Media literacy advocates believe that an understanding of all aspects of
mass media can result in a more democratic citizenship and better
informed consumers.
