RUNE WORKSHOPS

I know that I hung on the windswept tree,
All of nine nights,
Wounded by the spear, given to Odhinn,
Myself offered to myself,
On that tree for which none knows the roots of its rising.
No loaf gave they me, nor drink from the horn:
I looked down, I spied the runes
Screaming, I took them up,
Then fell back from there.

We have been running a series of workshops on Runes of the Elder Futhark at Little Mysteries Books, Barrington Street, one per month. We began in September 95 with Fehu, October with Uruz, November with Thurisaz... We have now reached the end of the series. The final workshop will be on Wednesday October 8, 1997, starting at 7:30. These are completely free of charge. The October workshop will take a general look at rune associations and rune uses. It will also focus on the meanings, associations, and use of the rune:
