Pine 3.91 E-mail and Improved Searching

Pine 3.91 E-mail

We have implemented this past month Pine 3.91, the latest version of the E-mail software we use on Chebucto. There are new commands you can use as well as a user configuration menu. Please consult the documentation to discover what is available and how you use it.

There are many advantages of the upgrade that are obvious to the user, such as the ability to place your "signature" where you want it and to be able to "zoom" into only the messages you want to see. The software upgrade has another advantage that will only become apparent when you get a lot of e-mail. This version of Pine has changed the method of deleting INBOX messages. Now when you are over quota, Pine will successfully remove the unwanted messages.

Improved Searching and Recently Changed Documents

Upgrades have also been made to two Chebucto Suite searching tools. The generalized search can now accept a multiple path specification, providing the online editors with more selectivity for CCN searches. For example, follow this link to search the Newsletter and Help Desk. The same feature is also available for Recently Changed Documents, allowing the online editors to focus on changes being made for each subject area.
