Hurricane JuanOn September 29th, 2003, Hurricane Juan hit Nova Scotia and caused extensive damage to McNabs Island. McNabs Island opened again to the public on May 21st. Due to the extreme forest fire hazard caused by the dead and dying trees blown down by Hurricane Juan, campfires are currently prohibited on the island.
