Business:  Word has reached the District PTA that a further cut of 10% in
supplementary funding was to be recommended to the Halifax Regional
Municipality.  It was understood that this issue was to be put to the vote
at the April 28th council meeting.  The feeling of the members of the
Halifax District PTA has always been that we don't support any cuts to
supplementary funding, that further cuts would have a very negative impact
on our children's education and that, if anything, we would like to see a
return to previous levels of funding.
	The business of this meeting was to word a letter to be sent to all
councillors of the former City of Halifax expressing our strong feelings
in this regard.  It was also decided to send a communique to all PTA
presidents informing them of this issue and prevailing on them to pass the
information on to parents along with the addresses of the Municipal
Councillors.

Victoria Day Holiday)
