FUNDY SQUARES
Basic & Mainstream - Wednesdays 8:30-10:00 pm (Class 7:00-8:00 pm), Wilmot Community Centre, Wilmot,
Caller: Tommy Collins scole@ns.sympatico.ca
Fundy Squares was started in September of 1986 with Cordell Levy and Wilfred Burns as the
Callers. That first class graduated sixteen dancers in May of 1987. Shortly after that first
graduation, an executive was elected with George and Donna Bent as the first Presidents.
The late Doug Wright suggested the name of 'Fundy Squares' for the Club and a banner was
created. That original banner was replaced a few years ago with a new one designed and made
by Isabel Kuhn.
The Club danced in Nictaux until January 2000 when it moved to the Wilmot Community Hall in Wilmot.
Wilfred Burns continued as Caller for Fundy Squares until the Spring of 2000 when he retired from calling for Fundy Squares.
We danced briefly at Three Rivers Community Centre returning to Wilmot Community Centre in January of 2003.
Mary Dunlop was caller from the spring of 2000 until December 2002. Our current caller is Tommy Collins. We dance on Wednesday nights and visitors are always welcome.
