Schumacher College:
http://www.gn.apc.org/schumachercollege/
Schumacher College was founded in 1991 on the conviction
that the world view which has dominated Western civilization
has serious limitations and that a new vision is
needed for human society and its relationship to the
earth. The College offers rigorous
inquiry to uncover the roots of the prevailing world
view ; it explores ecological
approaches that value holistic rather than reductionist
perspectives and spiritual rather
than consumerist values. Through interdisciplinary studies
, Schumacher College aims to explore the foundations
of the new vision. Course teachers in 1997-98 include Fritjof Capra,
James Hillman, Joanna Macy, Rupert Sheldrak, James Lovelock , Robert Bly
Arne Naess and many more. Courses included are Systems Thinking
and Learning for Change; Economics, Ecology and Globalization:A
North -South Perspective; Buddhist Economics; Mythology
and Metaphor; The Web of Life; Living Body of Earth. Schumacher

name of E.F. Schumacher best known for his book "Small is Beautiful"
and it seeks to promote the human values he so passionately believed in.

the Western industrizlied way of life through developing
modest initiatives based on what he called the human- scale,
conjoining the spiritual and the practical.
