How would someone start the application process to be a Big?

Usually an application may be picked up at the BB/BS office. Once completed, the professional staff conducts police checks and reference/background checks. The volunteer then attends an orientation and office interview. Next is a home visit and testing/matching is conducted. The volunteer is provided with training by a professional caseworker. The entire screening process takes about 4-6 weeks to complete. If accepted, the volunteer is then matched to a child.
