It has been a quiet year on the Policy Committee. Complaints about
Chebucto users are almost non-existent these days. As was true last year,
the greatest number of complaints of spam from Chebucto comes from AOL,
whose users insist on labeling legitimate mail as spam. In some cases this
was personal mail, other times it was legitimate mailing list mail which
the AOL users would have had to have signed up for that they are labeling
as spam.
In terms of new policy, the new Merchant Referral Program was developed by
the Policy Committee before being ratified by the Board of Directors.
There were no new issues arising from the Chebucto User Agreement or
By-Laws.
As in past years, there were two Chebucto Plus memberships suspended
temporarily due to their owners' virus-infected computers being a hazard
to others. In each case normal service was restored as soon as the
computers had been cleaned off.
As in previous years we are looking for people interested in serving on
the Policy Committee. Interested parties can submit their names to
office@chebucto.ns.ca.
