Canadian Knitwear Designers' Association
This is a recently formed orgainization, which includes Canadian Knitwear Designers, Teachers, Pattern and Yarn Retailers, Authors, Book Distributors, Hand and Machine Knitters, and Knitting Guilds. In their own words, "Emphasis will be given to marketing CKDA, not only as an extensive source of knitwear related companies and guilds, but also as a comphrehensive educational base to advance the medium, and elevate the image of knitting as an art form."
Elann Fibre Company
A mail-order store which sells 100% natural
fibres, plus other knitting tools, materials, and patterns. The site
has an extensive listing of the fibres which they sell, listed by
their weight/gauge, and by the yarn content. Each yarn is described
in detail, and they also sell sample 10yd length skeins of their
yarns for making test swatches - what a great idea!

The Knitting Guild of America
This is the national knitting guild of the US, and offers information about upcoming conferences (which always have excellent well-known teachers), their correspondance courses, and Master Knitters courses.
They also provide some free patterns, listings of associated guilds throughout the US, and information on their publication Cast-On.
