Low-Tech Knitting Aids
My favourite non-knit equipment for knitting is :
- Toilet roll tubes, for centre pull balls and as a spacing arrangement for my swift when winding wool from a cone onto the swift to make up my shawl kits.
- A bra, the best storage place yet for a cable needle, best in Summer with low-necked T-shirts!
- A music stand for comfortable pattern support.
- A walkman and a book on tape, to read to me whilst I knit. Quite heavenly!
- Pencil sharpener for emergency tip replacement on wooden or plastic needles.
- Bag of stationery labels for labelling my swatches.
- A sheet of Styrofoam (intended for basement insulation), which serves as my blocking board.
